On Monday our debating team competed against Parklands College.
The motion for the senior was: This house believes that developing countries should aggressively disincentivize learners from studying overseas.
The senior team secured the win!
The junior motion was: This house believes that Religious Educational institutes should not receive public funding.
We are very proud of all our teams!
The prefects went on an outing to Fallen Angels Animal Rescue where they were able to spend time with some of the animals as well as walk a few of the dogs. After lunch, the prefects ended the day with some outdoor laser tag at the SWAT Laser tag in Melkbos.
The 1st Team Soccer Girls played some amazing soccer at the Reddam Constantia Tournament. They ended 3rd overall, with American International School taking the trophy. They are ready, eager and excited for the season ahead! We would like to thank @garden_citiescpt and Mr Matthews for sponsoring the soccer girls this year.
EHS Interact visited Alta du Toit Aftercare Centre to hand out Easter eggs to their residents. The learners spent time chatting to the residents and hearing their stories. It was an incredibly heartwarming experience. Thank you to everyone who donated Easter eggs. 🐰
Term 1 Report:
Edgemead High School finished top of their group in the @acglmedia African Cyber Gaming League in term 1, which gains us entry to the Premiere Division for term 2.
We finished term 1 by winning 4 of our 5 games. We went up against teams such as @jeppeboys_official, @greyboyshighschool, @westerfordhighschool @hs_eldoraigne and @hs_zwartkop_sport.
Looking forward to term 2 in the Premiere Division.
Our First Team Mountain biking boys competed at the Weekend Warrior in Grabouw this past weekend.
Well done to the 1st team hockey girls, who won the shield finals in the @belgotexsport Easter tournament against Worcester.
Well done to Kyle Manson who was awarded the player of the match in our 4-0 win over Selly Park High School 🏑
Well done to captain, Kayla Davids who was awarded Player of the match in the shield quarter final vs Jim Fouche.
The Edgemead Eagles beat Stellenbosch High 12 – 0 to end a successful tour to Graaff-Reinet!
