We are extremely happy to be able to announce we have had confirmation from the Education Department on the appointment of our new Principal. Edgemead High will be welcoming Mr Joel Erasmus in January 2024. Please read the below biography to find out more about our new Principal.

We look forward to welcoming Mr Erasmus in 2024
Our grade 8 learners were given the opportunity to visit the Diamond museum; what a exciting and informative experience. They viewed the different diamonds and gem stones and were even allowed to try on some of the jewelry.
The Grade 12 Music and Drama learners visited LAMTA academy, a musical theatre school situated in Camps Bay, where they were able to observe and participate in different lectures by Duane Alexander. What an amazing opportunity to see how talent is brought to the industry and the industry to the Talent. 🎶🎭
Some of our Grade 9 Natural Science learners built their very own animal and plant cells using edible items.🎂🥼
The grade 10 Life Science learners completed a practical in which they tested various substances for the presence of starch, glucose, protein and fats. 🧪 🥼
With load shedding proving to be a continuous headache for effective functioning at Edgemead High School, we embarked on one of our biggest projects to date- TO GET OUR SCHOOL LOADSHEDDING FREE.
We started research on the pro’s and con’s of solar vs generator vs batteries as far back as 2017 and we are happy to announce that we have completed this project and are now completely unaffected by loadshedding as a school.
We have installed 200 solar panels on our roof which are connected to a 96Kw inverter and battery system. This allows for uninterrupted teaching and events on campus.
And all of a sudden the EHS campus was flooded by a sea of red when our Grade 12’s received their matric jacket.
Looking good 👀
Our Matrics have kicked off their first Life Science Practical for the year. They are learning about DNA and genetics.
Congratulations to our 2022 top achievers, we are proud of you!
Every 4 years we upgrade our computer labs to ensure that we have the latest equipment for our learners. Our learners were excited to assist us in the process. EHS always soaring 🦅
