Sport – Soccer

The 1st team girls’ last pre-season game, before the tournament this weekend, ended with a resounding bang! The girls won 4-3 against Curro Century City. What a superb team effort! The winning goal was epic. Parents and supporters could not contain their excitement! Well done to the 1st team Soccer Girls. They are strong and they are fearless!  ❤️🦅💙

Sport – Northern Zone Athletics Team

On 10 February we had our first Interschools athletics event at Parow High School and competed against Parow HS, Bosmansdam HS and Fairbairn College.

We sent 139 athletes to represent EHS 255 times.
We obtained 37 Bronze, 22 silver and 33 gold medals.
Our relay teams did exceptionally well, with 6 of the 8 winning the race. The u17 girls and u19 boys came a very narrow second.
We also received two best athlete awards: Hannah Davids (best u15 girl athlete) and Kearah Gentry (best u19 girl athlete).

Athletes that placed in the top 4 at Interschools were invited to compete at the Northern Zone Championship.
This took place at Parow Track on 17 and 18 February 2023.

We had 69 learners that qualified to compete, with 64 accepting the invitation. EHS was represented 99 times.
The Northern Zone Championship comprises over 40 schools in our district which includes top competitors such as Brackenfell HS, Stellenberg HS and Durbanville HS. Our athletes did really well with most of them beating their personal bests. Our relay teams also did well with 6 of the 8 being invited to run the final event: u14 girls (4th), u14 boys (3rd), u15 girls (4th), u15 boys (3rd), u17 boys (4th) and u19 girls (3rd).

Athletes that placed in the top 6 per event (excluding the relays) qualify to partake in the Western Cape Championship. The Western Cape Championship takes place at Parow Track 23,24 and 25 February.

Sport – Athletics Interschool

Last week we sent 139 athletes to compete at Interschools against @parowrcl , @fairbairncollege and @bosmansdamhs .
That meant that EHS was represented 255 times in the various events. We obtained 33 gold medals, 22 silver medals and 37 bronze medals. In our relays we won 6 out of the 8 relays with the other two placing a very narrow second place. We finished second overall. Well done, Eagles! 🦅
Today, we are sending our top athletes to the Northern Zone Athletics Competition. Good luck, Athletes! ❤️💙
