The EHS Interact society spent their afternoon cleaning up Milnerton Lagoon Beach. It was great to have so many families involved and joining the societies efforts to clean up the beach.

Zoe participates in Eden Festival of Action.
Zoe Prinsloo (grade 11) participated in the Eden Festival of Action, where she attended multiple workshops and learnt about being an active citizen, what camera trapping is, participated in a beach clean up and contributed to planting 1876 trees.
They also did a biodiversity hike to Salt River and produced eco-brick products.
EHS Interact recognized with awards from Rotary
Our Interact club was recognized with four project recognition awards and received a banner for being the most active Interact club in 2018 from Rotary.
EHS Interact host a workshop
Our Interact club hosted a workshop on teamwork, leadership and project planning. Interact clubs from Protea Heights Academy, Bosmansdam High School and Table View High School attended.
Amy makes Art Times!
Amy Theunissen (grade 11) had three of her artworks accepted to be published in the Art Times May edition.
Xhosa week at EHS!
Edgemead High School hosted a Xhosa Week celebration in support of Africa Day 2019.
Learners celebrated the Xhosa culture by dressing up in their vibrant traditional clothing and hosting a fashion show for their school. A group of talented learners performed Xhosa songs acapella, while others showed off traditional Xhosa dances.
It was a great opportunity for learners to show off their culture, while also teaching their peers about their culture.
On the 25th of May, countries across the African continent will celebrate Africa Day 2019 in celebration of the foundation of the Organisation of African Unity.

Congratulations to Jadyn Goff (grade 11) and Leah Boyle (grade 11) who received her SA colours in dancing and will represent South Africa in Croatia next month.
Peter Pan comes to EHS!
There is a buzz of excitement at Edgemead High School this week, as our drama department prepares for the production of Peter Pan. The production will run the 6th-12th April at Edgemead High School. Grab your friends, family and neighbours and join us on a journey to Neverland to watch the adorable darling children, the villainous Captain Hook and Peter Pan in what promises to be a magical and entertaining show.
