Rising stars, Unity, comprising of Reagan Kelly, Tony Munnik and Ronan Kelly, have won a competition hosted by KFM. As winners, they have been selected to perform at K-Day later this year. This week, they performed twice for the school to celebrate their win. So proud of you, boys! ❤️🦅💙

Campus Development – Solar
With load shedding proving to be a continuous headache for effective functioning at Edgemead High School, we embarked on one of our biggest projects to date- TO GET OUR SCHOOL LOADSHEDDING FREE.
We started research on the pro’s and con’s of solar vs generator vs batteries as far back as 2017 and we are happy to announce that we have completed this project and are now completely unaffected by loadshedding as a school.
We have installed 200 solar panels on our roof which are connected to a 96Kw inverter and battery system. This allows for uninterrupted teaching and events on campus.
Sport – Athletics Interschool
Last week we sent 139 athletes to compete at Interschools against @parowrcl , @fairbairncollege and @bosmansdamhs .
That meant that EHS was represented 255 times in the various events. We obtained 33 gold medals, 22 silver medals and 37 bronze medals. In our relays we won 6 out of the 8 relays with the other two placing a very narrow second place. We finished second overall. Well done, Eagles! 🦅
Today, we are sending our top athletes to the Northern Zone Athletics Competition. Good luck, Athletes! ❤️💙

EHS was invited to attend the first day of the A1 Padel Tennis championships. The learners had an amazing day watching the incredible talent and are excited to try it out themselves. Thank you to @africapadel and @lpottersa for hosting us.

Blood Donors
We hosted our first blood donation clinic for the year. There was much excitement for the clinic, with 63 learners and staff attending, 18 of whom were first time donors! Congratulations to all who successfully donated today and saved 3 lives! 🩸
