Our 1st team squad hard at work preparing for their tour to Graaff Reinett.
Practices in the ‘middle’ are essential preparation and with our new mobile net our boys can have these sessions.

Tamryn participated (5 – 6 Nov ’22) at the CTA Championships 2022 at UWC in Bellville and received the following medals:
• Bronze in 50 butterfly stroke
• Bronze in 50 breast stroke
• Silver in 100 breast stroke
• Gold in 200 back stroke

Jessica-Ann Bester in Grade 9 takes part in Wrestling. Some of the awards she received at their awards ceremony include:
First Overall Winner in South Africa
Best Youth Wrestler of the year
Sportsperson of the year just to name a few.

Performing Arts – Classical Guitar
PERFORMING ARTS – 14th Annual Classical Guitar Competition
On Saturday 29 October 2022, the music department held our 14th Annual Classical Guitar Competition in the Candlelight Theatre.
This year’s 62 entries from 22 primary and high schools surpassed our earlier record of 42.
Once again, the performance level was impressively high from the youngest 8-year-old grade 2 performer to grade 12. Each had come along eager to fight for the converted trophies and medals.
Despite the 33-degree temperature, our captivated audience endured the 3 hours show with warm appreciation for all contestants and the promise to return in 2023 to witness our youth showing off their talents again.
EHS learners gave an excellent account of themselves.

Thaania Omar took second place in the grade 8 category.
Zane Jacobs took 3rd place in grade 12.
Aiden van der Merwe was awarded the trophy for best beginner. Aiden had only started playing 11 months ago yet beat a field of 9 guitarists in his group.
Our congratulations to our eagles. Your soared high on Saturday. We are all extremely proud of you.
Campus Development – Medical Centre
In October 2022, our first aiders had the opportunity to cut the ribbon at the opening of EHS brand new First Aid Medical Centre. Thank you to the SGB Chairperson and SGB members who were in attendance and thank you to Brice Construction for our beautiful, little centre.
Sport – Cricket
EHS 1st XI took on Reddam Durbanville. Reddam won the toss and chose to bat, scoring 120 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Notable mention to MJ vd Berg with 3 wickets for 19 runs from his 4 overs.
EHS reached the target in 14 overs to win the game by 8 wickets. Daniel Haschick with a great knock of 82 runs.

Sport – Athletics
In October 2022, our athletes partook in a friendly hosted by Curro Century City which saw them competing against Curro Century City, Curro Somerset West, Bonteheuwel High School and Ryland High School. The events available were long jump, 100m, 200m, 300m, 600m, 1200m and 4x100m relay. Out of the 50 events, EHS ran away with 32 first place medals. We are very proud of our athletes and are super excited for the season ahead.
Campus Development – Solar
We are excited to announce that we have installed over 200 solar panels at the end of 2022.
Academics – Computer Lab Upgrade
Every 4 years we upgrade our computer labs to ensure that we have the latest equipment for our learners. Our learners were excited to assist us in the process. EHS always soaring 🦅
